You see a carousel of glamorous pictures. High contrast colours, makeup and editorial hair.
But this project was created by an army of brilliant minds. We came together to share a story using fashion as our medium.
Earlier this year @discovercreativecareers @uk_screenskills and @youtube invited me to curate a fashion project that will not only highlight the diverse roles in fashion, but do so while telling a story. Because stories make me who I am, and you who you are.
My brother passed away around the age I currently am. He was young, brilliant and had his whole life ahead of him. Tragically it happened months before my wedding in 2021.
To honour all he was and could have become, @davidjr_art and @projecteris7 (my siblings) designed this incredible custom print which we printed on fabric to make this outfit you see in these photos. If you look at the back of the statement jacket, you will notice a child cradled in a hand. Tarhe we hope your soul (the child) is in God’s hand (Obo Oghene - in God’s Hands)
Thank you @hasipallie for working with me to bring this project together. Your technical knowledge in pattern making, draping and fashion design made this process less intimidating.
